This extraordinary Timothy Richards' model pays tribute to Somerset House, Sir William Chambers' outstanding achievement in neoclassical architecture. Enjoying pride of place along the Thames in central London, the building was once occupied by kings, queens, and even the Princess Elizabeth before her coronation as Elizabeth I, and today houses societies of arts, science, and culture. The model reproduces a section of this palatial landmark, dividing its symmetrical facade and archways into two handsome bookends. Like all Richards pieces, they're handcrafted in Bath, England, from gypsum-based plaster and acid-etched metal accents with meticulous care. Commissioned around the world by venerable institutions like London's Victoria and Albert Museum, the National Cathedral in Washington, DC, and many private institutions, the studio's masterful works will be prized for generations. Also available at Gump's San Francisco. 13"L x 2 1/2"W x 8"H. Made in the United Kingdom.
