Handcrafted in the 400-year-old technique of Peking glass, this Robert Kuo vase is masterfully mouthblown from layer upon layer of glass, then shaped and polished by hand. Though its lineage is deeply traditional, the brilliant persimmon hue makes it a contemporary art piece for display, holding flowers, or enhancing an art-glass collection. Beijing-born Kuo learned the ancient technique of Peking glassblowing as a youth in his father's cloisonné studio, mastering that art and many others without any formal training. In the intervening 40 years, Kuo's remarkable works have joined the collections of the Smithsonian Instritution, the Vatican, and numerous private galleries. 8 3/4" diam. x 15 1/2"H. Made in the USA. Hand-wash.
