Marlene Xenis began making wooden dolls from her home in British Columbia in 1994 and soon built a reputation for her extraordinary artistry and handcraftsmanship. Carved from solid Canadian maple, she’s dressed in a silk-dupioni gown with a silk/velvet cape and bodice. Her face and arms are painted with a light wash of color that reveals the natural beauty of the wood grain. Fitted with 13 moveable ball-and-spring joints for smooth movement and ease of display.
